Tasks
You will mentor and coach E&AM operations teams in respect to SHEQ management policies and standards to ensure risks are identified and mitigated and enable compliance with all applicable statutory requirements. In this role, you will support the H&S Director in delivering proactive SHEQ support to all aspects of Vital Energi involved in the ongoing operation and maintenance of energy assets, and any related ancillary/support functions UK Wide. You will also offer leadership and direction to your directly reporting SHEQ Advisors to ensure the provision of an effective SHEQ support service to Vital Energi and its customers -Ensure a timely and effective response to SHEQ incidents and act as incident controller if required. -Undertake the role of Principal Designer (CDM) for nominated projects, ensuring that the duties of the role are fully and effectively discharged -Use feedback and management information on the relevance and effectiveness of policy, systems and processes to help improve their design/application. -Ensure a risk-based approach when determining solutions and developing initiatives, giving priority to high-risk and complex situations, as well as strategic issues. -Act a SHEQ exemplar - encouraging others to follow suit by addressing unsafe acts, conditions and environments when you see them. -Responsible for the development, management and upgrade of elements within the SHEQ Management system. -Support the development and delivery of a programme of inspections and audits to ensure all Vital Group of businesses remain compliant with regulatory requirements and internal management system requirements. -Monitor organisational performance in respect of SHEQ and feedback to line managers and other appropriate colleagues through the collection and dissemination of SHEQ performance data and monthly reporting. -Shape and influence practical delivery of the health and safety strategy / agenda, partnering with the Energy and Asset Management function, and associated ancillary/support functions to translate business priorities into meaningful health and safety activity which can be implemented by operational and line managers. -Ensure health and safety is managed to a consistently high standard across the business, working collaboratively to integrate SHEQ into business operations. -Support work winning and Energy and Asset Management operational teams to ensure that health and safety requirements are established, communicated, understood and delivered throughout the contract lifecycle. -Facilitate employee engagement and participation in line with SHEQ action plan/Events Calendar. -Set/agree targets and goals for improving SHEQ performance. -Provide strategic and insightful support and challenge to project leaders/managers/engineers and others. -Share learning and knowledge to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Vital Group SHEQ strategy and sharing of good working practices. -Developing and influencing positive safety behaviours -Lead cross-functional teams to deliver health and safety related projects.

What You Bring
Only applicants who are legally entitled to work in the UK and are currently resident in the UK are invited to apply. -A full UK driving license -Membership of recognised Professional body (e.g. IOSH, IIRSM, APS, ISEP [IEMA]) -Essential: NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate (or equivalent qualification); Desired: NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification) -Sound understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations – CDM, with experience of fulfilling the duties of Principal Designer (preferred) -Specialist skills and qualifications in SHEQ technical areas including health and safety and environmental legislation -In depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and its interpretation and good health and safety practice in a client, employer and/or infrastructure asset context. (Essential) -Internal auditor qualification (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001)
