Overview

Weld steel pipe using a universal welder in a fire fabrication shop.

Tasks

-Weld components using semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions -Test all machine welds to ensure quality -Read blueprints and drawings -Take measurements to plan layouts -Weld by hand any leaks found in quality penetration die test -Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety -Set up welding machine according to specifications

What You Bring

-Ability to follow directions and communicate with others -Ability to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8-12 hour shifts -4 plus years of welding experience -Must be able to work Saturday (will count against attendance record if missed). -Attention to detail -Good work ethic and a willingness to learn -Must be 18 years or older -Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required -Pipe welding and welding certificates a plus -Read a tape measure -Good attendance and a positive attitude are critical for this position -Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly -Must be able to communicate ideas, thoughts, etc. both verbally and in written form -Ability to pass a drug test
