Tasks

A core part of the role is supporting the implementation and day to day management of the Huntly Firming Options (HFO). You’ll help manage virtual coal stockpile positions, reconcile deals and settlements, maintain tracking systems, and enhance automation and reporting as our trading systems evolve. You’ll also build financial models and provide insights that inform trading strategies and portfolio performance. Reporting to our Trading Strategist, you’ll also focus on market insights, research, and reporting, monitoring market trends, energy prices, and economic shifts, and turning this information into actionable analysis for the team. What You Bring

You’re an analytical thinker who thrives at the intersection of data, finance, and energy markets. With a strong foundation in trading fundamentals and a knack for turning complex data into actionable insights, you’re ready to contribute to a high-performing trading environment. -Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field -Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in financial modelling -Experience or study exposure in trading or energy analytics -Proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, SQL, or Power BI an advantage -Understanding of financial markets and interest in commodities or energy -Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate insights clearly.
