The Role
Overview
Design, evaluate & release vehicle IP/console systems, managing manufacturing & cross‑functional teams.

Tasks
-Evaluate manufacturing processes for IP Structures, including steel and aluminum stamping, extrusion, robotic welding, magnesium die casting, and hybrid concepts. -Communicate with internal and external customer organizations and lead the product development team (PDT). -Support initial vehicle configuration work, cost optimization, customer-focused requirements, and product/process improvements. -Initiate the design process, perform design analysis, diagnose and correct deficiencies, and assist in maintaining cost controls. -Stay informed about new technologies and product developments. -Perform engineering design evaluations and concept development across global vehicle programs. -Assess design-to-manufacturing processes such as injection molding, vibration welding, vacuum forming, foam-in-place, and wrapping for instrument panels and consoles. -Provide technical direction to support personnel and initiate supportive build programs. -Package components and coordinate with other vehicle systems (Thermal, Electrical, Body, Chassis, Restraints, etc.). -Use engineering tools and collaborate with CAE groups, including Safety Performance, to develop optimal system solutions. -Balance business imperatives like cost, mass, complexity, and timing. -Plan and implement test and development programs, coordinating with suppliers and customers frequently.

What You Bring
-Intermediate knowledge of Lotus Notes or other email communication tools. -Nice to have experience with RedX, DFSS, interior automotive, Catia, and Design. -Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration. -Experience partnering with senior management to analyze and solve issues. -Engineering Degree. -Ability to work well in a team, exhibiting strong teamwork skills. -Experience with injection molding and interior plastic parts or IP/Console DRE. -Ability to multitask and handle diverse assignments concurrently. -Strong ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations. -Intermediate knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. -Position-related experience of 5 years. -Strong understanding of materials, engineering theory, and principles of design. -Familiarity with basic hand and machine tools. -Strong ability to use common measurement tools and techniques. -Bachelor of Science in Engineering. -Familiarity with Fishbone analysis. -Excellent written and oral communication skills for meetings and presentations.
