Tasks

-Engage with industry stakeholders to ensure that the implementation of the Restoration Standard takes their perspectives into account where feasible. -Support interactions with DESNZ, Ofgem, and other industry forums regarding ESRS. -Develop/continue any required New Markets and/or funding mechanisms for providers -Coordinate with other NESO functions to integrate ESRS, system risks, and resilience considerations into their activities. -Framework(s) to enable contributions to the Electricity System Restoration (ESR) from a wider range of technologies -Oversee the development and execution of necessary changes to ensure NESO's readiness and compliance with ESRS obligations. -Represent NESO at external groups and forums. -Reporting on progress for the Restoration Standard implementation. -Initiate/continue relevant regulatory framework changes and updates -Provide leadership and guidance for the Future Restoration team, which is responsible for: -Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and customers, both internal and external, addressing liaison matters as needed. -Support the management of the multi-layered plan for implementing and delivering the ESRS for NESO, providing updates to the NESO Executive Team on programme delivery. -Offer technical assessment capabilities to complement commercial assessments of CUSC parties’ resilient claims.

What You Bring

-Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with an aptitude for effective collaboration and influence among diverse parties in the energy industry and within NESO, while managing potentially conflicting interests. -Demonstrated knowledge of electricity system operations. -Experience in data management and information analysis. -Proven ability to manage projects involving multiple internal and external deliverables. -Familiarity with electricity licences, codes, and framework agreements (including GC, STC, CUSC, and SQSS). -New IT tools to support restoration -Demonstrates knowledge of generation technologies, including thermal, hydro, wind, solar, storage, and interconnectors. While not at an expert level, possesses a clear understanding of how these technologies operate and participate within the system. -Comprehensive understanding of the energy sector, preferably supported by experience across various utilities such as Transmission Operators (TOs), Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), System Operators, and Generators. -Capacity to establish strong networks within the industry and promote a culture of co-creation for the ESRS. -Understanding of electricity market operations, balancing schemes, and the Balancing Settlement Code.
