The Role

Overview

Coordinate quality and food safety, manage sensory program, testing, SOPs, and audits.

Tasks

-Sample for corporate, R&D, micro testing, product managers, retain management, and line reviews. -Support the Risk Management Program. -Perform internal food safety physical inspections (FSRA). -Enter quality notifications in SAP for defective materials or packaging. -Lead allergen inspections and maintain documentation. -Complete and organize rework paperwork. -Lead and document the plant sensory program and manage gold standards. -Conduct receiving inspections for suspect materials or conditions. -Create and revise OPLs for job responsibilities. -Support foreign material decision making and risk assessment. -Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality, sanitation, and food safety. -Organize and schedule micro and allergen testing with the Logistics department. -Lead traceability computer work and manage weekly hold reports. -Audit HACCP, Control Point, and Control Measure documentation.

What You Bring

-1-2 years of quality/food safety work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. -Other food safety training and certifications. -Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. -HACCP certification is a significant plus. -Demonstrated job stability on resumes is important. -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a related field. -Understand and learn regulatory and food safety requirements, including GMPs, HACCP, and Allergen Management. -Ability to communicate internally and externally at all levels and across disciplines. -Preventive Controls certification is an advantage.
