Tasks

-Work with Discipline Leads to ensure that design solutions are fully coordinated with other disciplines and contract requirements by chairing meetings, preparing sketches, tracking deliverables -Track all Project associated costs related with Design hours progress tracking, estimating -Design Issues Tracking and Issues Resolution -Review Project and Company procedures for Design Quality Management and track performance -Assist discipline leads to identify design issues and prepare RFIs to send to the client as required -Monitor Design Schedule, track deliverable dates and prepare look-ahead schedule for distribution -Position requires attendance at internal and external meetings and keep meeting minute records -Track and Monitor Design Interfaces – Internal, External with Client and External with Third Parties -Participate in Change Management process and assist Commercial Manager when required. -Assist Project Manager in all tasks related with the development of construction documents required for a transit Project -Work with BIM and CAD personnel to develop drawings, sketches and support documents when required -Consult with Project Document Control Manager and ensure procedures are being adhered to and key documents uploaded to Client are compliant -Manage Design Subconsultant agreements, deliverables, and invoicing process -Research into available design standards, requirements, literature to support design decision making -Review all contract requirements and ensure Compliance

What You Bring

-Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team -Fluency in English, both written and verbal is critical -Candidate should be familiar with local design codes, drawing preparation standards etc. -More than 10 years’ experience as Engineer (Civil or Structural) or Architect, including alignment (mandatory) familiar with various Ontario-market clients' design standards -High skills in Inroads or Power Rail Track are mandatory -P.Eng. or OAA registration is an asset -Willingness to learn, develop and apply new techniques, standards, and processes -Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner -Ability to develop non-standard solutions -Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills -Legally able to work in the greater Toronto area presently -Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, partners, contractors, etc. -Sound technical/business judgment in the evaluation, organization, management, and experience of design activities -Willingness to take on additional tasks as needed -Must have experience in detailed design coordination -Experience as a Design Manager or Assistant Project Manager is mandatory along with having local project experience in the Toronto area -Able to develop plans, specifications, technical notes & calculations, etc., with minimal supervision. -Excellent analytical and technical writing skills, excellent organizational, time management and critical thinking skills
