Tasks

-Conduct field investigations, data collection, and site visits with engineering staff -Support a variety of active projects across both design and construction phases -Take initiative in your learning by asking thoughtful questions and actively engaging with your team -Develop a deeper understanding of the engineering profession through practical experience -Apply classroom knowledge to real-world water and environmental engineering challenges -Contribute to project tasks and deliverables while learning new technical skills -Collaborate with and learn from experienced engineers, planners, and technical staff -BETA encourages and promotes employee advancement and career development

What You Bring

-General working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or other CAD platform -Understanding of general engineering theory and concepts -Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail -Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds -Proficient in the use of current technology (i.e., tablets, smart phones, laptops, etc.) -Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow) -Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field -Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn -Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite -Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections -Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
