Tasks

-Limited field work, including the collection of soil, groundwater, surface water, and indoor air samples. -Market/manage existing and new clients. -Complete annual medical monitoring program. -Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals and reports. -Track and report on the status of grant applications and funding received. -Mentor and train junior level staff. -Develop and maintain relationships with funders and stakeholders. -Conduct Phase I ESAs. -Communicate and interact with project clients, vendors, and subcontractors. -Write or oversee the preparation of reports, Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs), Analyses of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCAs), and Remedial Action Plans (RAPs)Preparation of cost estimates and work plans. -Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of applications. -Assist clients writing grant applications for both EPA and state assessment and remediation grants, going through state-level voluntary clean-up programs, and applying for revolving loan funds to support remediation efforts, as well as other related documents/tasks for grant recipients. -Walk around project sites in all types of terrain. -Assist in the development of fundraising strategies and campaigns. -Interpretation of sample data and preparation of data summary reports. -Oversee and manage subcontractors during completion of site assessments, excavations, and other remedial activities. -Support other environmental studies including asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, and mold and radon assessments. -Lift sample coolers and other equipment up to 35 pounds. -Support proposal and cost estimate development. -Collaborate with program staff to gather information necessary for proposals. -Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and regulations. -Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations.

What You Bring

-Possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) -Meet the ASTM definition of a qualified environmental professional. -Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, geology, or related field required. -Extensive report writing and technical review experience and knowledge/understanding of the full life cycle of the Brownfields redevelopment process, including project knowledge and experience with EPA-, state- (in EPA Regions 6 and 7), municipal-led projects. -Completion of 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training and current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training are required to perform this work. If the successful candidate does not already possess this training, Tetra Tech will provide training prior to initiating regular work duties in the field. -Professional licenses or certifications such as QEP, CHMM, or PG, are preferred but not required. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and Teams) required. -Highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. -The position will require extensive outdoor work as well as some overnight travel. -Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required. -Asbestos and/or lead certifications preferred, but not required.
