Fire Testing Lead Technician

Lead on-site testing of fire/life safety systems, ensure compliance, mentor team.

Tasks

-Test fire doors, fire pumps, and perform elevator recall. -Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily -Test the smoke detectors, heat detectors, duct detectors, water flow switches, pull stations, horn/strobes, horns, bells , sirens, and back up power of commercial buildings. -Ensure all inspections, testing, and maintenance are performed strictly in accordance with national standards, primarily NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code), as well as local codes and jurisdictional requirements. -Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 20+ pounds, daily -Direct, instruct, and mentor technicians on proper work methods, safety protocols, and NFPA standards.

What You Bring

-Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily. -Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally -3+ years’ experience in fire life safety testing -Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily. -Hours will vary, must be able to work on-call, weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed). -Los Angeles Chief’s Regulation 4 Certificate of Fitness (in one or more categories) -Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally -Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations. -High school diploma (or equivalent) -Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
