Senior Technical Engineer

Tasks

-Collaborate with IT, Security, and Development teams to ensure system reliability, security, and compliance, by maintaining and referencing clear technical documentation and SOPs. -Respond to alerts and incidents from our outsourced SOC provider and Darktrace dashboard. -Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues before they impact users. -Deliver expert 3rd line support for internal systems and services. -Administer and optimise the Microsoft 365 stack (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, OneDrive). -Mentor and train 1st and 2nd line support staff to elevate service quality. -Act as a key escalation point for critical incidents, ensuring swift resolution and root cause analysis.

We operate a hybrid working model and this role is based in our Walsall off with a requirement to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week. If you thrive on solving complex technical challenges and enjoy working within a collaborative, forward-thinking team, we’d love to hear from you. -Proven experience in 3rd line support with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 and Azure. -Solid understanding of networking in cloud environments (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls). -Experience with Cisco Meraki and Sophos firewalls. -Working knowledge of SQL Server (queries, backup/restore). -Experience with secure data exchange (e.g., SFTP). -Familiarity with ISO27001, GDPR, and vulnerability assessments. -Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Log Analytics, and Azure Backup/VMs. -Excellent communication and documentation skills. -Deep knowledge of Azure AD, MFA, SSO, Conditional Access, and Identity Management. -Microsoft certifications in Azure or Microsoft 365. -Familiarity with PowerShell, Power Automate, and Graph API. -Degree in Computer Science or related field.
