Tasks

-Assist with recommendations for Section 106 reports, including eligibility determinations and effects assessments -Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure quality of data, field work, and documentation efforts -Assist with performing background research, historic architectural field work, contextual analysis, and narrative descriptions of architecture history properties -Conduct local field work on an as-needed basis; during summer months, regional field work may be available as well

What You Bring

-Fluency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Adobe Acrobat -Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting -Working towards a master’s degree in one of the related fields: History, Historic Preservation, Art History, Anthropology, Folk Studies, or Public History -Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record -Strong writing and research skills -Demonstrate good judgement, collaboration, technical skills, and communication skills -Knowledge of architectural styles, Section 106 of National Historic Preservation Act, National Register of Historic Places, and the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties -Ability to complete physically demanding tasks in urban and rural settings and/or hot and dry climates, including walking, hiking, and field navigation -Must be able to read a map and utilize map application on a tablet or cell phone; working knowledge of mapping and ARCGIS-related programs preferred
