Production Planner II - Wilson Road

Tasks

-Performs action to ensure all parts are available at the proper time. -Plan and slot all work orders, set capacities, and lead times, and verify delivery dates. -Ensures all equipment and parts work orders and changes to work orders are processed and communicated in the ERP system. -Determine manpower, equipment, and raw materials need to cover production demand. -Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. -Prepare and submit status and performance reports. -Create and maintain all production schedules for the facility. -Writes and runs reports as needed for management and others. -Follow company policies, procedures, and safety rules at all times. -Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. -Ensures equipment and parts work orders are closed correctly in the system when complete. -Promote and educate others on Astec's core values. -Issue and Track all Work Orders in the ERP system for materials, time and schedule. -Manage projects based on project expectations. -Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. -Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels. -Monitor and correct all exceptions generated in the ERP system. -Validates ERP discrepancies, researches and identifies root causes to formulate recommendations in the form of process enhancements to improve accuracy. -Produce reports based on findings and performance of production. -Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. -Work with all departments to maintain required information and work to keep everyone informed of schedule additions and changes.

What You Bring

-This position will require strong communication skills, along with strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Oracle/ERP system knowledge. -Bachelor's degree preferred, Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school with 3+ years related planning experience and/or training; or 8+ years of experience as a production planner or master scheduler in a manufacturing environment. -Experience with Oracle or similar ERP system required. -Honesty and integrity in all aspects of business -Detail oriented with good organizational skills. -Willingness and aptitude to implement a planned introduction of Oracle ERP scheduling. -Willingness to utilize lean knowledge tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
