Sample Reception Officer

Receive, log and store lab samples, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance.

Tasks

-Record receiving temperatures of samples and check samples for deviations. -Follow procedures to perform basic sample preparation and determination. -Review storage space usage and requirements for upcoming work. -Ensure all work requests are accompanied by correct paperwork (chain of custody against quote) and purchase order number. -Ensure samples are stored in the correct locations in a timely manner. -Responsible for logging samples into LIMS accurately. -Receiving and unpacking deliveries of samples throughout the day. -Liaise with Project Coordination Team to ensure timely disposal of samples.

What You Bring

-An interest in science, preferably with qualifications related to the science field. -Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to effectively communicate at various levels within organisations. -Ability to work with minimal supervision independently as well as part of a team. -Previous experience of working in a laboratory setting would be advantageous. -Good attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure. -Experience of working in a fast-paced environment would be desirable. -Experience of working with a LIMS software programme would be highly desirable.
