The Role

Overview

Conduct field and lab testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.

Tasks

-Conduct density testing using nuclear gauge and other soil compaction methods. -Operate and maintain field testing equipment. -Assist in geotechnical drilling and subsurface investigations, if required. -Perform concrete field testing, including slump, air content, unit weight, and making test cylinders. -Perform field testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, and other materials according to ASTM, AASHTO, and other industry standards. -Record and report test results accurately and promptly. -Collect and prepare soil and material samples for laboratory analysis. -Communicate findings with project managers, engineers, and site personnel. -Adhere to safety procedures and company policies while working on-site.

What You Bring

-Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. -Proficiency in basic computer applications -Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for fieldwork and inspections. -ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I -Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate in noisy environments and with project teams. -Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains. -Experience with nuclear density gauge testing (Troxler Certification) -Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. -Frequent use of hands and arms for typing, handling tools, and operating equipment. -OSHA 10/30-Hour Certification -Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods. -Ability to lift and/or carry 35 to 75 lbs. up to 75 feet, involving regular repetitive motion. -Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols. -Ability to read & write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients -Excellent organizational and time management skills. -Ability to pass a background check screening. -Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant, and peripheral vison, depth vision, and ability to focus) smell, hear, touch (use hands to reach climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit). -NICET Level I or II in Construction Materials Testing
