Assist health care litigation group with case management, filings, and trial preparation.

Tasks

-Prepare and maintain notebooks and indices for Peer Reviews, Experts, Trial, etc. -Review and analyze documents -Manage multiple cases from start to trial -Assist during trial: manage exhibits, assist with witnesses, and any other duties associated with trial -Communicate with clients, hospitals, and other counsel -Maintain ongoing correspondence file between hospital, practitioner, and their counsel during peer review -Collect documents from various sources -Draft routine legal documents -Maintain and update all hospital governing documents (bylaws, credentials policies, rules and regulations, etc.) -Conduct various document searches and factual research -Assist with preparation of depositions, including gathering and organizing exhibits -Handle Court filings -Prepare subpoenas -Assist with trial preparation: assist with pretrial documents (deposition designations, exhibit and witness list, organize exhibits, files and other supporting documents) -Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize depositions and medical records

What You Bring

-Ability to search database programs and assist with organizing, summarizing, and/or categorizing documents -Ability to troubleshoot issues and create solutions -Paralegal Certificate preferred -Adaptability to changing priorities; flexibility -Exceptional organization and attention to detail -Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) -Experience with litigation software, including but not limited to Relativity, Concordance, CaseMap, TextMap and Trial Director. -Preference to experience preparing for trials and/or arbitrations -Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred -Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel, courts, clients, other counsel and vendors -Ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects for several attorneys -Prior paralegal experience or law firm experience preferred -Preference to experience in all phases of the litigation process, particularly areas involving healthcare -Strong verbal and written communication skills
