Participate in investigating accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
Monitor subcontractor performance and report any deficiencies to the project manager.
Consult the Safety Manager on any unresolved issue.
Communicate safety related concerns to foremen and project managers.
Perform necessary industrial hygiene monitoring.
Perform employee orientations.
Maintain a detailed log of each site visit, noting observations and corrective actions.
Conduct multiple job-site safety observations per day.
Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments, procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors.
Conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
Perform Tap Root Analysis on incidents when necessary.
Coordinate weekly and develop a schedule with the Safety Manager to determine what projects should be visited.

OSHA 30-hour course in Construction Safety
Valid driver’s license
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification or gained within the first year
Degree in OSH or related field helpful but not required
High attention to detail
Able to implement new processes
1-3 years in construction safety and/or occupational safety & health experience
