  • Participate in investigating accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and report any deficiencies to the project manager.
  • Consult the Safety Manager on any unresolved issue.
  • Communicate safety related concerns to foremen and project managers.
  • Perform necessary industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Perform employee orientations.
  • Maintain a detailed log of each site visit, noting observations and corrective actions.
  • Conduct multiple job-site safety observations per day.
  • Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments, procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors.
  • Conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
  • Perform Tap Root Analysis on incidents when necessary.
  • Coordinate weekly and develop a schedule with the Safety Manager to determine what projects should be visited.

  • OSHA 30-hour course in Construction Safety
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification or gained within the first year

  • High attention to detail
  • Able to implement new processes
  • 1-3 years in construction safety and/or occupational safety & health experience
