Tasks

The Senior Draftsman plays a critical role in the Engineering team, supporting offshore and marine projects with high-quality technical drawings, rigging layouts, material take-offs, and CAD models. This role will focus on ensuring all deliverables meet structural, fabrication, installation, and safety standards, working closely with engineers and project managers across multiple business streams. To follow the Group Business Management System and ensure drawings are reviewed and controlled as per quality procedures. To uphold the Company’s Health & Safety requirements with particular regard to agreed codes of practice and safe methods of working. To uphold and carry out the duties of the post with due regard to the Company’s Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work Policy. -Proactively identifies design clashes or drawing issues and suggests improvements. -Perform ultrasonic gauging and prepare inspection drawings for structural thickness assessments. -Prepare barge and vessel anchor patterns, including global positioning using client specifications and installation requirements. -Create shop cutting lists and generate detailed Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for fabrication coordination. -Delivers technically sound and constructible drawings with minimal supervision. -Develop 2D and 3D drawings for jackets, topsides, subsea structures, rigging equipment, and offshore installations. -Interpret technical sketches, field data, and specifications from engineers for vessel modification and dry-docking projects. -Support heavy lift operations, vessel loadouts, and yard activities as needed, ensuring drawing compliance with operational intent. -Communicates effectively with engineers, managers, and offshore teams. -Translate engineering concepts into accurate, buildable CAD models using AutoCAD and 3D software. -Manage version control and documentation for drawing packages in accordance with internal systems and industry standards. -Produce fabrication drawings for structures such as padeyes, spreader bars, subsea cable supports, offshore baskets, and stanchions. -Support quality reviews and ensure timely submission of project deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.

What You Bring

-High attention to detail with ability to produce clear and accurate drawings under tight deadlines. -Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D tools such as Inventor or Tekla preferred. -Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or equivalent. -Solid understanding of offshore structural components, installation methodology, and fabrication processes. -Ability to read and interpret engineering calculations, specifications, and reference standards. -Demonstrates ownership, initiative, and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team. -Minimum 5+ years of experience in offshore, marine, or structural drafting roles. -Organised and reliable in managing drawing databases, revision logs, and project tracking. -Experience working on T&I (transportation and installation) scopes is strongly preferred.
