The Role
Overview
Develops and validates color formulas for adhesives, manages colorant portfolio, ensures quality.

Tasks
-Providing color recommendations for internal and external customers. -Color assessment of adhesives using spectrophotometer and industry techniques. -Monitor color reproducibility during the manufacture of adhesives, implementing countermeasures for formulations as needed to meet specification. -Liquid property testing of adhesive and kitchen aftercare products. -Carry out work in accordance with ISO9001. -Development, manufacture and validation of new color adhesives with accurate reporting to allow seamless introduction into production. -Follow current QC and R&D laboratory systems and procedures. Implementing new systems and procedures when required. -Responsible for maintaining records and databases of color standards, formulations, customer recommendations, and other relevant paperwork. -Development of new color and pigment blend formulations. -Physical property testing of adhesive products. -Strictly follow standard methods of test. -Assist Quality Assurance with color complaint investigations. -Assisting the development of the environmental health & safety efforts by creating safety assessments, operating procedures and test method procedure documents. -Data collection, management and analysis. -Reporting any problems immediately to supervisors including any maintenance issues. -Assessing tasks for risks and implementing control measures. -Make recommendations for improvements to facilities or processes when needed. Maintain an efficient practical working environment.

What You Bring
-Education to degree level within chemistry or other relevant scientific discipline or equivalent relevant experience. -Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Experience of working within a short lead time production environment. -Problem analysis and problem solving. -Experience presenting to management. -An awareness of environment, health and safety issues. -Excellent attention to detail when testing and developing color products -A strong understanding of chemistry and the relevant technologies. -A good level of IT literacy including Microsoft Office packages and databases. -Good organizational skills and a methodical approach to work. -Communication skills – verbal and written, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers. -Manufacturing, coatings, or chemical industry experience desirable. -Preferred two years’ experience in working with colorant technology.
