Tasks
-Demonstration of proper and safe equipment usage to customer at the point of delivery -Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work -Perform pre- and post- vehicle inspection; Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition, before, during, and after delivery trips -Secure construction equipment and other equipment, by means of chaining, strapping, and blocking under the strict accordance and established procedures -Assist other departments whenever required in an efficient manner -Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles -Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds -Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs -Delivery and pick up of equipment for customers in a safe and timely, efficient, and courteous manner -Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders -Obtain required signatures on rental contracts, pick up, and exchange forms -Perform basic troubleshooting involving malfunctioning equipment at job site and make minor repairs

What You Bring
-Requires working in a closed vehicle or equipment -The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences -Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures -Ability to maintain a clean driver’s record and diligent attention to safety -Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance -Three years’ driving experience preferred, with verifiable over-the-road experience operating combination commercial vehicles -Equipment selection skills - determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job -Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. -Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable -Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment -Operation and control skills - controlling operations of equipment or systems -The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing -Knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations/DOT guidelines -Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair -Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment -Ability to read maps and operate GPS systems -Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions including extreme conditions such as heavy rain, wind, or excessive temperatures -Complete DOT required drivers daily log and trip sheets accurately and without misrepresentation -Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction -Possess knowledge of and/or previous experience in driving delivery trucks, towing tandem axle utility trailers, and towable construction equipment, and operating safely within high traffic or congested city zones and in small areas -Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina -The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects -Must be able to remain in a stationary position 100% of the time -Valid Driver’s license with Class A CDL certification, DOT Physical Examination (Medical card) -Quality control analysis skills - conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance -The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions -High school or equivalent diploma preferred -Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment -Significant time spent in confined spaces and/or high places -Travel up to 100%
