Tasks
-Complete routine tasks associated with industrial hygiene inspections and assessments. -Assist in preparing a variety of regulatory-driven and client-specific industrial hygiene reports. -Perform routine maintenance of field equipment utilized by the Portland office. -Implement and diligently adhere to corporate health and safety policies and procedures. -Regularly conduct daily field work (including travel within Oregon and Atlas’ Pacific Northwest region) as needed. -Prepare daily field reports documenting field activities and system performance specifications. -Manage assigned project tasks on time, within scope and within budget in a safe manner. -Assist with cost estimating and procurement of equipment and parts. -Position includes the performance of mold, indoor air quality investigations, lead inspections, asbestos air monitoring, and asbestos surveys for private and public sector clients.

What You Bring
-Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to meet organization and project objectives. -Ability to travel, primarily within Oregon but also within Atlas’ Pacific Northwest Region -Preferred candidate will be 40-hour HAZWOPER trained and possess the 24-hour asbestos inspector certification, the 40-hour asbestos abatement/supervisor certification, and lead awareness training. -Positive, flexible team-oriented approach, with the willingness and desire to work as part of a multi-disciplinary professional team -Possess a basic understanding of United States Environmental Protection Agency and State of Oregon environmental regulations and applicable State of Oregon certifications. -Preferred candidate will also have a working knowledge of United States Environmental Protection Agency and State of Oregon environmental regulations. -Ability to work efficiently and independently. -Atlas is currently seeking a project-level Industrial Hygienist 2 for our Portland, Oregon office, supporting current and upcoming projects in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest Region of Atlas. -Possess good oral and written communication skills. -Oregon certifications preferred, if applicable. -Dependable, organized, detail oriented, and resourceful. -Preference will be given to candidates with a university of college degree or a high school diploma with several years of applicable experience in a similar role with an environmental or engineering consulting firm. -Candidate should be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and possess excellent report writing skills. -Proficiency in CADD and/or GIS is also considered a plus. -The ideal candidate will have good technical and organizational skills and be able to work independently on assigned project tasks with limited supervision. -Willingness to be cross-trained for other environmental sampling and assessment assignments such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and soil, air and groundwater sampling.
