Tasks

-Support the Institute’s enterprise risk management (ERM) efforts in collaboration with Chief Compliance Officer and Legal, Governance & Compliance leadership. -Develop and execute a comprehensive, risk-based internal audit strategy aligned with the Institute’s objectives. -Identify and address evolving risk landscape -Present audit plans, findings, and recommendations to Executive Management and the Audit Committee of the Board. -Engage individually with the team to have open communication and collaboration with business units. -Design and implement risk-based audit plans and methodologies. -Collaborate with IT and Legal on AI systems for ethical compliance, data integrity, and risk mitigation. -Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing audit team. -Stay abreast of emerging technologies and regulatory developments in AI and IT. -Serve as liaison for external audit firm and any applicable regulatory agencies in concert with Legal -Lead internal audits of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity protocols in US and international jurisdictions, data governance, and digital transformation initiatives. -Oversee reviews and internal control testing for compliance with SOX Provisions That Apply to Nonprofits, namely Whistleblower Protection (Section 1107) Document Destruction (Section 802). -Advise senior leadership and the Audit Committee on risk exposure, control effectiveness, and compliance matters -Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. -Collaborate with Finance and Regional teams to assess operational risks and recommend best practices. -Ensure audits are conducted efficiently, with a focus on risk mitigation, process improvement, and value creation. -Ensure timely reporting of audit findings and facilitate & follow through on remediation efforts. -Foster strong relationships across the organization to position Internal Audit as a trusted advisor. -Direct and oversee all internal audit activities, including financial, operational, compliance, and systems audits. Oversee audits across international offices and programs, ensuring adherence to local regulations and global standards. -Identify opportunities for efficiency, simplification and enhanced controls across departments.

What You Bring

-Proven experience in international audit environments. -Strong analytical thinking, professional skepticism, and business acumen. -Deep knowledge of financial reporting, operational controls, IT systems, and regulatory compliance. -Willingness to travel (up to 25%) to corporate locations. -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fields. -Professional certifications – CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE certification preferred. -10-15 years of progressive audit experience, including leadership roles. -Strong knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity, and AI governance. Experience with audit software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools is a plus. -Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting to boards or audit committees. -Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
