Tasks

Lead and Grow the Business Inspire and Develop Teams -Represent VELUX in client, industry, and community engagements -Direct collaboration with senior leadership and international partners -Build, coach, and empower a high-performing team -Live and model the VELUX values and performance culture -Oversee daily operations and ensure alignment with company goals and customer expectations -Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement -Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion across Canada -Operate within a matrix organization — collaborating across functions, regions, and teams that may not directly report to you. This may include functions like finance, HR, customer service and others. -Analyze market trends, performance data, and customer insights to guide business decisions -Champion the VELUX brand and strengthen our market presence -Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and customer segments

What You Bring

Limited international travel is required, and the role includes approximately 40–60 nights of overnight travel per year. Drive Insights and Innovation Own Operational Excellence If Canadian, the successful candidate may also be elected to the Canadian Board of Directors. We’re looking for an experienced, strategic, and growth-minded General Manager (internally known as Market Director) to lead our Canadian market. Based in our Oakville office, you’ll lead with an entrepreneurial mindset — building teams, growing market share, and delivering results. -Experience in construction, building materials, or home improvement sectors is an asset -Comfortable taking smart risks, learning from challenges, and adapting quickly -Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (required) -Strong sales and customer-facing experience -Proven success in driving growth, managing teams, and delivering results -Confident, articulate, and entrepreneurial — able to think long-term while managing day-to-day priorities -While general management experience is preferred, a solid track record of growth through sales, marketing, business development management, or strategic consulting will also be considered. Passion for growth, ambition, and drive are required! -5–10 years of leadership experience in roles such as General Manager, Sales Director, or Business Development Lead -Hybrid role: must be able to work from our Oakville office at least 3 days per week (potentially increasing to 4–5 days with notice)
