Tasks

-Lead estimate reviews and present final proposals to executive management or clients. -Support project turnover by communicating estimate details and assumptions to operations teams. -Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators and support staff. -Maintain and update cost databases, production rates, and material pricing to reflect current market conditions. -Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure complete coverage of project requirements. -Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine the full scope of electrical work. -Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to develop accurate cost projections and constructability insights. -Perform quantity takeoffs and identify value engineering opportunities to improve project competitiveness. -Prepare detailed and accurate labor, material, and equipment estimates using estimating software and cost databases. -Participate in bid strategy meetings and assist in proposal preparation and pricing strategy.

What You Bring

The Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. This role requires extensive experience in electrical systems, a strong understanding of construction means and methods, and the ability to analyze project documents to determine the scope, cost, and profitability of potential work. The Senior Estimator plays a key role in preconstruction, bidding, and project handoff processes. -Leadership and mentoring capability. -Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, ConEst, or McCormick). -Advanced Excel and takeoff skills; experience with Bluebeam Revu preferred. -Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience accepted. -Experience: 10+ years in electrical estimating or related construction roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or lead estimator capacity. -Strong knowledge of NEC codes, electrical systems design, and construction practices. -Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities. -Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
