Lead field projects for gas pipeline integrity, overseeing inspections, NDT, and repairs.

Tasks

-Develops and implements process improvements. -Determine remaining strength of and repair pipeline defects. -Perform pipeline defect and root cause analysis. -Conduct direct examinations of buried steel gas transmission pipelines. -Coordinates with other departments and outside agencies. -Oversee excavation activities and contractor crews associated with inline inspection (ILI) and external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) projects. -Performs most complex mathematical and analytical calculations, research and design to provide engineering and technical support to designated areas. -Utilize GPS equipment and technology. -Ensure all safety and environmental procedures are followed. -Gathers, compiles, reviews and analyzes information and data for use in engineering tasks. -Utilize non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT/NDE) methods including ultrasonic thickness testing, magnetic particle inspection, and laser scanning. -Prepares/creates/maintains documents, photos, drawings, reports, system records, and database information.

-Knowledge of applicable regulations in 49 CFR 192 Subpart O -Strong leadership and team building skills -Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities -Strong personal computer skills -Proven decision-making skills and ability to resolve problems -Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities -AMPP or ASNT certification – minimum CP2, CIP Level 2, PCIM, Corrosion Technologist or NDE Level II
