Tasks

-Review financial statements and explain variances on queries as necessary. -Planning, assigning, and directing work. -Manage accounting staff and coordinate with operations month end flash/close. -Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the finance team. -Review USGAAP schedules quarterly for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to Atlanta. -Appraising performance, including annual evaluations and new employee 30-60-90-day evaluations. -Review balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to ensure all balances are reconciled properly with supporting backup. -Lead and/or assist on completing budgets and reforecasts. -Work with President and senior management on the strategic plan. -Effective management of employee performance through coaching, feedback (written and verbal), rewards, and discipline when necessary. -Coordinate all requests/documentation related to external and internal audits. -Assist with interviewing and hiring process as necessary. -Oversee and manage day-to-day activities of the finance team including the accounting staff, accounts receivable, payroll, procurement and material sales. -Work on ad hoc projects as directed. -Provide solid leadership and support AMAT’s talent management initiatives through succession planning and professional development of the accounting personnel within the organization. -Recommend and/or assist new efforts to improve management and financial performance at both the Op Co and Group level. -Work with President and senior management on financial analysis and board proposals for potential acquisitions and major CAPEX requests. -Maintain good working relations with managers from all lines of business. -Addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner. -Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team. -Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained to safeguard the financial assets of SAR Aggregates. This includes all Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, AMAT and South Division accounting policies and procedures.

What You Bring

-Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or managers with other projects or initiatives as required. -Knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting principles, methods, techniques, standards and metrics. -Excellent problem-solving skills. -Willingness to develop subordinates’ technical and leadership skills and make recommendations for new job opportunities when appropriate. -Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. -Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. -CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required. -Business acumen in construction operations, manufacturing, and/or distribution. -Skill in examining and establishing proper financial operations and procedures. -Strong business and strategic leadership abilities. -BS degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, plus 5+ years of relevant financial management experience. Experience in construction account strongly preferred. -Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate problems clearly and concisely by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and follow an extensive variety of technical instructions. -Strong financial analysis capabilities, including discounted cash flow modeling and analysis. -Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. -Ability to translate business objectives into actionable, measurable initiatives. -Ability to get work done through others using effective delegation, scheduling, and time management practices. -Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual. -Must demonstrate the ability to use a computer to communicate and analyze data. This includes but is not limited to the use of Outlook, MS Office programs, Hyperion financial software and other web-based programs. -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence.
