The Role

Overview

Inspect welding activities to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specs.

Tasks

-Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and contractors regarding welding quality issues. -Ensure safety and environmental compliance during inspection and welding activities. -Support welding procedure qualification tests and maintain records. -Identify and report any non-conformances and assist in corrective and preventive actions. -Verify materials, consumables, and equipment are in accordance with approved specifications. -Conduct visual inspection of welds and coordinate NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT. -Ensure proper documentation of inspection results, including weld maps, repair records, and daily reports. -Participate in audits, quality meetings, and project reviews as required. -Inspect and monitor welding operations to ensure compliance with project drawings, welding procedures (WPS/PQR), and applicable codes (ASME, AWS, API, ISO, etc.). -Review and verify welder qualification records and maintain welder performance logs.

What You Bring

-Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO). -Familiar with NDT methods and interpretation of test results. -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering -Certified Welding Inspector (CWI / CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent) preferred. -Minimum 5 years of experience in welding inspection within [industry type — e.g., oil & gas, fabrication, power plant, etc.]. -Proficient in Microsoft Office and QA/QC documentation systems. -Excellent communication, documentation, and report-writing skills.
