The Role
Overview
Assist with material handling, inventory, and customer service in a lumber yard.

Tasks
-Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor. -Ensure products are labeled correctly and stored in designated areas. -Assist in measuring and preparing materials for customers or contractors. -Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient operations. -Receive incoming shipments, verify accuracy, and organize products. -Collaborate with team members to ensure inventory accuracy. -Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment. -Keep the facility and storage areas clean, organized, and free from debris. -Gathering building materials such as lumber, sheathing, roofing, drywall, doors, windows etc -Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to meet customer needs. -Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, dusting, and trash disposal. -Sort and organize materials according to type, size, and customer orders. -Help customers load and unload materials from their vehicles by hand. -Build Millwork material packages by hand -Assist with the inspection and maintenance of tools and equipment. -Maintain a safe working environment by following proper lifting and material handling procedures.

What You Bring
-Good communication skills -Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. -Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a lumber yard or building supply business. -Good hand coordination -Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and order processing. -Mathematically inclined; ability to do calculations -Excellent customer service and communication skills. -Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects regularly and work on your feet for the entirety of the shift.
