Tasks
This is a pivotal role where you will be the day-to-day management face of Blackwell, representing our values and mission while building strong relationships with stakeholders and the wider Blackwell supply chain. You will report directly to the Assistant Project Director and Project Director, while playing a central role in establishing and driving a high-performance project team. -Work closely with Blackwell’s Central Support, Commercial, and Health & Safety teams to ensure a coordinated approach across all disciplines. -Report directly to the Assistant Project Director and Project Director, keeping the Senior Leadership Team fully informed of progress and challenges. -Lead and oversee the safe delivery and construction of earthworks. -Maintain excellent stakeholder relations and act as the primary liaison with clients and partners. -Identify and implement efficiencies in delivery techniques to ensure the Price for Work Done remains below the Total of the Prices. -Ensure all vehicles, plant, equipment, and tools under your control are compliant with statutory inspections and Blackwell policies. -Build and motivate a strong delivery team, enabling all members to fulfil their potential. -Ensure delivery on time, within budget, and in line with KPI targets. -Take ownership of your section, ensuring safe and efficient operations every day.

Blackwell Earthmoving is seeking an experienced Planning and Project Control Manager to lead our delivery teams in the safe, productive, and profitable construction of earthworks across all of our main projects. -Calm under pressure, adaptable to change, and decisive in challenging situations. -Adaptability to change, with resilience in dynamic project environments. -Commercial awareness with strong organisational and document management skills, particularly with NEC contracts. -Motivational leadership style with the ability to engage at all levels. -Level-headed decision-making ability, particularly under pressure. -Solid knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental law, and employment law including Working Rule Agreement T&Cs. -Energetic and motivational personality, able to engage with personnel at all levels. -Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, using delegation effectively. -Relevant CSCS card required. -In-depth knowledge of modern earthmoving methods, plant, outputs, and technologies. -Strong understanding of earthworks specifications, materials handling, and operational constraints. -Proven experience in linear earthworks, ideally within a high-speed rail environment. -Proficient in producing resourced programmes and budgets.
