Tasks

-Act as a referral agent for students; be knowledgeable about campus resources. -Review emergency protocols for building on a regular basis. -Develop fliers, social media content, spreadsheets, and documents as determined by Office staff. -Assist with mail key/box audits. -Provide customer service through personal and electronic interaction (e.g. tours, e-mails, instant messaging, phone calls) -Monitor all access to the front entryway of the building; this includes greeting residents/visitors to Brottier , St. Martin Hall, and McGinley Halls reporting safety/security issues to appropriate authorities, and administering sign-in/out procedures for guests and equipment according to university policy. -Assist residents with lockouts. -Attending all required meetings and training. -Sort, forward, and record mail and packages  for residents and staff. -Assists with general organization of desk areas, study lounge, kitchenette, and patios.

What You Bring

-Have knowledge and ability operate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. -Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and write simple correspondence. -Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. -Obtain high school diploma or general education degree (GED). -Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. -Preference will be given to current Duquesne University students and/or residents of Brottier , St. Martin, and McGinley Halls . -Current student at a post-secondary institution at Duquesne University or other post-secondary institution -Knowledgeable about work order system and provide guidance to residents. -Ability to operate basic office equipment including photocopier, fax, and telephone.  Basic typing and filing skills.
