Asphalt QC Manager

Tasks

The Asphalt QC Manager will be responsible for daily asphalt testing and mix adjustments at the K-Five asphalt plants and at jobsites to ensure adherence to federal, state, and/or customer specifications. -Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. -Perform volumetric testing for multiple mixes utilized on a daily basis. -Maintain the lab in a neat and professional manner. -Communicate effectively and efficiently with agencies, plant, and site personnel. -Perform some service, repair, and calibration of laboratory and field testing equipment on a timely basis. -Perform asphalt testing and analysis at asphalt plants and jobsites. -Deliver samples to appropriate agencies. -Perform (nuclear gauge) testing on asphalt pavements. -Submit daily production reports utilizing appropriate software.

What You Bring

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Position requires prolonged sitting and reaching, standing and lifting. -Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. -Knowledge of paving process. -Established reputation of high-quality materials and craftmanship -Ability to perform effectively under pressure and get along well with others. -Strong organizational skills with focus on prioritization of workload. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages relevant to the position. -Experience with asphalt lab equipment. -Illinois DOT Aggregate Technician Certificate, HMA Level 1 and/or HMA Level 2, or the ability to obtain within 3 months. -Availability and willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends to meet customer needs. -HS diploma or equivalent (GED) with minimum of 2 years’ experience in an asphalt QC role required. -Possess good mathematical skills -Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated, and dependable, with a good attendance record.
