The Role

Overview

Oversee production staff to meet quality, productivity, safety, and cost goals.

Tasks

-Identifies, analyzes, and acts to correct bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, tool and equipment problems -Councils, motivates, and instructs Lead and Set Up personnel in quality standards, machine operations, and critical documentation, and employee relations -Manages department priorities -Develops and executes plans to meet or exceed department and company goals of quality, productivity, and cost efficiency -Provides on-the-floor training to new employees as needed and works closely with the floor leads and set up employees -Ensures proper inventory levels are maintained to meet daily production and/or assembly needs -May create production schedules to prioritize department’s needs -Manages department performance measures and visual controls -Ensures that employees adhere to schedules and customer service requirements -Works in conjunction with Quality Assurance to make sure high-quality products are produced as specified

What You Bring

-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals -Ability to read and understand blueprints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence -5+ years as a production supervisor in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. -Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software and Manufacturing software -High School Diploma -Present ideas for improvement and information accurately and clearly in both oral and written form
