Tasks

-Quality and security: Ensure software solutions meet high standards for reliability, performance, security, and compliance. Embed privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance into platform design. Collaborate with enterprise security and infrastructure teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks. -Strategic and technical leadership: Define and communicate the architecture roadmap, technical standards, and best practices across the organization. Translate business strategy and product vision into a tangible technology roadmap, ensuring architectural decisions directly support revenue goals, market expansion, and customer satisfaction. -System design: Oversee the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and performant Enterprise and Cloud software solutions, often involving controls architecture, backend services, cloud-native technologies, and microservices architecture. Define and govern the data architecture for the suite, ensuring efficient data flow, quality, and modeling in collaboration with enterprise data teams to maximize the value of Morningstar's proprietary data. -Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Collaborate with different regions to ensure architectural solutions support all regional and sales needs. -Process & Productivity improvement: Lead efforts to reduce technical debt, optimize performance, automation, new technologies, tools, and drive the adoption of modern development practices like CI/CD. Establish and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices across engineering teams. -Mentorship and team guidance: Provide technical direction, mentorship, and coaching to software engineers and development teams.

What You Bring

-Extensive experience in software development and architecture, often 15+ years in software development with at least 5+ in an Architecture leadership role. -Experience with Enterprise platform, Edge computing, cloud platform (AWS/Azure), microservices, and CI/CD pipelines. -Experience in leadership or senior enterprise architecture role. -Bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical, power electronics, CS, Engineering, or a related field -Familiarity with enterprise-level applications, integration with Cloud, controls architecture, database design, and relevant programming languages. -Experience with E2E system/product development and stakeholders’ management -Strong understanding of controls software architecture, SAAS, design patterns, Data analytics, and system SW and HW integration. -Strong people leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide teams through complex technical decisions. -Minimum 8 years in Industrial Automation or Building Automation or Energy management, BESS or Renewables or Battery management systems with 5+ years of experience in Architecture and or a related role -Proven track record of delivering complex software Enterprise projects and large-scale SaaS platforms with a focus on scalability and reliability.
