Facilities Technician

Overview

Perform maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of multi-family properties to ensure resident satisfaction.

Tasks

-Maintain structural integrity of building by completing minor repairs -Determine materials and equipment needed to complete project work -Maintain a clean and organized workplace, including the maintenance shops and storage facilities -Provide comfortable, clean and well-maintained facilities for residents to enjoy -Review and recommend all contractor requests for day to day operations -Plan and effectively communicate to residents’ timelines and actions should situations arise whereby resolution of maintenance issues take longer than 48 hours -Ensure vacant apartments are always in a state of “rent-readiness”, clean and fully prepared for move-in -Ensure proper and accurate inventory management and equipment maintenance -Address resident maintenance requests within 48 hours -Communicate with Management via Email (photos), phone and in person for updates regarding projects and daily operations -Be available for questions, troubleshooting and assistance on repairs -Preventative maintenance inspections and reporting

-Responsible for actions and decisions, with the capacity to follow through until a resolution occurs -Maintenance service experience and understanding of construction practices -Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and assertiveness -Strong planning and organizational skills coupled with ability to multi-task and prioritize -Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service -Strong knowledge of tools, parts, building maintenance and operations -Ability to work independently (self managed) and with other colleagues in a team environment -Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve effectively -Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility -Interior finishes - drywall, paint, flooring, etc. -Ability to remain calm and in control of a situation while still maintaining patience, empathy, and understanding -Excellent time-management skills -Willingness and ability to travel within the city - Must have a Class 5 Drivers License and access to transportation -Ability to complete physically demanding tasks
