Lead utility design, coordination, and relocation for rail projects nationwide
-Coordinate stakeholder utility engagements with third-party utility agencies. -Plan, schedule, and coordinate preparation of PS&E for major projects. -Lead efforts to expand RailPros’ utility services. -Manage subconsultants involved in utilities-related scope. -Represent RailPros at stakeholder meetings, conferences, and industry events. -Oversee field potholing operations to guide data collection and alternative solutions. -Develop in-house training presentations to educate teams on utility design capabilities. -Prepare Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for in-house utility design. -Develop and manage utility design efforts for engineering projects. -Provide mentorship and training to junior staff. -Participate in in-house project management training courses. -Ensure compliance with performance measures and internal policies. -Oversee the work of subconsultants, utility engineers, and designers. -Build and expand RailPros' utility design service line for future projects. -Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting utility design and recommend necessary adjustments. -Coordinate across departments to ensure utility design integration within larger projects. -Lead and mentor a team for utility design and coordination while managing background documentation. -Keep the RailPros Project Manager updated on project developments.
-Ability to lead stakeholder meetings and present service capabilities. -Expertise in utility design and relocation processes with local and regional agencies. -Professional Engineer (PE) License in any state. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic communication tools. -Membership in professional organizations or national committees. -Experience in utility relocation projects within a railroad environment. -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program. -8+ years of experience in utility design and relocation projects. -Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills for complex project challenges. -Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and StormCAD. -Past leadership experience in managing utility design teams. -Strong project management and leadership skills to develop a new service line.
