Tasks

-Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as needed -Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members -Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule -Develop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules -Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels -Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity -Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies -Collaborate with project partner superintendents -Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions -Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members -Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures -Conduct on-site project orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and project site meetings -Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability -Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance -Develop a site logistics plan and lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment

-Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills -Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback -Intermediate Microsoft Office skills -Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies -Current driver’s license -Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans -Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks -Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience -Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days. -Ability to travel up to 100% -Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience -Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, complex projects -Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices -Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
