Overview
Assist field & office engineering tasks on heavy civil projects.

Tasks
-Assist in tasks like field surveying, labor timesheets, and preparing JHA's -Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations -Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents -Generate change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by Project Manager -Assist with entering data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management -Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Perform takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents -Prepare work plans and work packages -Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations -Order and schedule material deliveries including supplies -Supervise field operations -Review and analyze data relative to projects, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid -Assist in maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including but not limited to submittals, daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Complete plans and specification reviews for projects while assessing risk areas -Conduct quality inspections -Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety trainings -Documents and communicates schedule progress and quantities to support 3-week and 90-day schedule updates

What You Bring
-Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related degree preferred -Regular, reliable attendance -Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives -Ability and willingness to travel and relocate to small and large cities as business requires -Must have valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from work -Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills -Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time including working rotating schedules, shift work, or weekend work as required by projects -Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience preferred -Strong time management ability and attention to detail -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
