System Technician (Morning Shift)

The Role

Overview

Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot recycling system operations on morning shift.

Tasks

-Assist Department when necessary to cover absenteeism & vacation. -Comply with company rules, policies and procedures. -Daily inspection of all system during system warm up to ensure safe and efficient start-up. -Maintain a steady flow of material on the line via screen angles, disk and conveyor speeds. Ensure that there is always a good balance of fiber and containers on the line. -Perform mechanical repairs to the system as assigned by the System Supervisor -Communicate with administrative, plant and supervisory staff as required. -Report absenteeism to your Manager via telephone, text or email. -Ensure all aspects of system are operating properly during production (ie film hood, bag breaker and drumfeeders) -Review and document the result of system checks all suggestions to be given to Supervisor. -Provide and/or participate in training as required. -Accurately document system downtime and necessary repairs that must be made on system that are observed during operations on forms provided. Forms are to be submitted to supervisor. -Be sure to include comments in deficiency reports about any observations to potential maintenance issues. -Must be in communication with other operators to assist in operational changes to ensure the efficient operation of the system. -Ensure specialty equipment such as screens, Eddy Currents, and drumfeeders are cleaned before system start-up -Participate in maintenance meetings as required -Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized.
