Overview

Tasks

-Work with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential duties -Terminate wires to circuit breakers, transformers, devices, controls, and other components in accordance with the schematics, prints, drawings, or instructions -May operate hand and power tools of all types (including but not limited to air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments) -Locate and diagnoses electrical malfunctions using various test instruments -Record field wiring changes and modifications on blueprints for recording on master circuit diagrams -Cleans maintains, and services equipment and tools -Operate a variety of power tools, shop equipment, and electrical testing instruments -Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures -Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing various types of conduit -Work efficiently to ensure assigned tasks will meet deadlines -Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of these essential duties -Actively developing an understanding and working knowledge of the NFPA 70 series, State, and local codes -May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris -All employees must provide and maintain the required tool inventory for this position -Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications -Follow and encourage others to follow OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures -Drive a vehicle to various job sites throughout working hours

-Demonstrate a willingness to comprehend and follow instructions given by qualified electrical mentors -Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performance -Good organizational and time-management skills -A current valid driver's license is required -This position is subject to ergonomic testing -Ability and willingness to learn and perform duties normally associated with other areas -Work at heights, such as by working on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, tops of single and multi-story buildings, as well as working in confined spaces such as underneath single story and multi-story buildings -Hold a Journeyman license in the state you are currently working in -Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required -High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred -Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions continuously -Ability to communicate clearly with others -1 - 4 years -4+ years -Must be able lift and carry up to 100lbs -Exposure to varying outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, varying fumes or odors; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; and work in ditches/excavations -Must be able to perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including standing and/or walking for long periods of time, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying -Must be able to work in overhead structures and around and beneath machinery -Ability to understand, interpret and utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics -Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe manner -Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities -Maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy
