Overview
Operate and maintain water/wastewater treatment plant, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency.

Tasks
-Performs field tests (chemical, physical and biological) in order to pace chemical dosages for process control units or alter unit processes. This includes TS, TSS, PH, and other lab tests typical of wastewater and anaerobic digestion; -Use SCADA for process monitoring and systems control and to operate various equipments; -Control and operate automatic and semi-automatic machines and related equipment including pumps, engines, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, centrifuges, chemical feed, etc. -Verify and report suspected malfunctions and variances to the supervisor and take corrective actions; -Performs manual labor including filling and emptying of machine bins and cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds as required; -Monitors flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls through instrument panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units in assigned area; -Practice good housekeeping in the assigned area and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies. -Ensures conformance to process specifications. Diagnoses basic operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure. Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor and takes corrective actions; -Sample wastewater, sludge and gasses (odor control, digester, etc.) according to schedule; -Monitors and records operating conditions observations and data in a shift log; -Makes independent decisions concerning process control changes. Directs the activities of other operators assigned to the shift;

What You Bring
-Associate's degree in a science or technical area preferred; -Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing (operational, process, safety and quality Instructions). Ability to perform basic math. -Attention to details and capability to accurately follow procedures. -Must provide own transportation -Fast-paced, physical environment -Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). -Ingenuity and initiative are required to coordinate problem resolution and to execute the schedule requirements within a team environment -Ability to use computer systems such as Email, SCADA trending and data retrieval. -Exposure to dust and process odors -Reliable and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations. -Demonstrated commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures. -Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, attention to detail. Good use of the English language. Deadline oriented. Work well with others. Good hand eye coordination. Repetitive motions required. Rotating through-out the facility as required. -Experience in operation of Anaerobic Digestion highly regarded -Over five years experience in a related position and environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water/wastewater treatment -Must demonstrate effective skills in troubleshooting, problem solving and team building. -Must be able to respond to emergency calls as needed and work extended hours to accommodate site needs. -High School education or equivalent with the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally (operational, process, safety and quality instructions). -Must have an understanding of the Processes including Digesters, wastewater treatment process, water quality assurance, maintenance strategy and laboratory procedures. -Analytical skills to understand data and graphs. Capability to make decisions based on data. -Diagnose basic operational problems and take corrective action per procedure;
