The Role

Overview

On‑site commissioning, testing, fault diagnosis and maintenance of switchgear up to 36 kV.

Tasks

-Undertake fault diagnosis of switchgear and related equipment; test and rectify, as necessary. -Interpret specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises -Carry out an on-site risk assessment on every assignment and record details thereof on the special form provided. -Commissioning, repair, and maintenance of the companies range of Switchgear products, both on site and in Brush Blackwood factory.

What You Bring

-Experience in representing the company at customers’ sites and operating remotely on own initiative whilst observing the requirements set down in the company’s code of Conduct for Commissioning Engineers. -Flexible to travel UK wide, potentially staying away for longer than 7 days. -Test and commission switchgear up to 36kV. -Experience in dealing with customers effectively. -Able to work with company’s rules and guidance notes on health and safety, including operation of safe systems of work in relation to high voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and work in a heavy industrial environment. -A minimum of four year’s experience required in switchgear test/commissioning. -Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
