The Role

Overview

Accurately set out points and measurements on construction sites using surveying tools.

Tasks

-Interpret and analyze construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate setting out of construction elements. -Prepare progress reports and provide feedback to senior engineers and project managers. -Mark out reference points and guide construction teams to follow accurate dimensions. -Identify any discrepancies or deviations from plans and work closely with the project team to resolve them. -Use surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels to establish accurate points, lines, and levels onsite. -Ensure that all setting out equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition. -Maintain detailed records of all setting out activities, measurements, and quality checks. -Monitor and inspect the quality of work, ensuring it meets project requirements and industry standards. -Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, or related field. -Strong knowledge of surveying equipment (e.g., Trimble is a must, total stations, GPS, laser levels) and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D). -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team. -Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation. -Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. -We have a standard, consistent and fully integrated health, safety, environment, and quality system within the business. -Valid driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites in the UK -2+ years of experience in setting out engineering or a similar role in the construction industry.
