The Role

Advise on design, construction, and commissioning of airfield infrastructure.

Tasks

-Ensure that lighting, navigational aids, fueling systems, and drainage are tested and validated for operational readiness. -Provide technical input to ensure compliance with ICAO, FAA, EASA, and/or GACA standards. -Oversee quality control of key airfield components such as pavements, markings, lighting, and airfield ground lighting systems (AGL). -Support training and handover documentation for airfield systems. -Coordinate with engineering, planning, and construction teams to align airfield requirements with project delivery. -Represent technical interests during design reviews, site inspections, and handover meetings. -Support the development and execution of commissioning strategies for airfield systems. -Assess constructability, maintainability, and safety of proposed airfield solutions. -Advise on phasing, access, and interface planning between airside and landside operations. -Engage with airport operators, civil aviation authorities, air traffic services, and regulatory stakeholders. -Provide input on operational procedures, safety zoning, and emergency access. -Review and validate design and construction methodologies for runways, taxiways, aprons, and other airside infrastructure.

What You Bring

-Experience in Middle East aviation or airbase projects. -Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, AviPLAN, or similar airfield planning tools. -Familiarity with airfield systems including AGL, signage, drainage, fueling, and navigational aids. -Fluency in Arabic is a plus. -Deep knowledge of ICAO Annexes, FAA Advisory Circulars, GACA regulations, and relevant military or NATO standards. -Minimum 15 years of experience in the design, construction, or oversight of airfield infrastructure. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Aviation Engineering, or a related discipline. -Strong understanding of airport planning, airside operations, and technical standards. -Ability to evaluate technical submittals, method statements, and commissioning strategies. -Certification in airport planning or ICAO-standard compliance (e.g., ACI, IES). -Excellent stakeholder engagement, coordination, and technical writing skills.
