Tasks
We address over 39,000 customer enquiries every month, plan and deliver all maintenance activities on the network, drive efficiencies and improvements across our systems and roads, and respond to incidents across 4,500 miles of motorways and major A-roads that we manage. All to make sure National Highways customers have safer, smoother, and more reliable journeys. Operations is at the heart of keeping the strategic road network moving and ensuring our customers get the best possible experience when using our roads. At National Highways we're looking for a Network Occupancy Co-ordinator to join our team based in Darlington. You will be supporting the decision making and co-ordination of all activities on the regional network as well as optimising the overall network availability and ensuring minimal disruption to customers, whilst maximising operational delivery. You will also be ensuring network occupancy is compliant with all National Highways governance & be aware of future activity demands requiring occupation of the network. -Processing abnormal load movements across the region and liaising with hauliers as and when required to ensure safe journeys across the -Maintaining and overseeing the management of information in the Highways England Network Occupancy Management System and other associated systems in an accurate and timely manner. -To Manage, analyse and coordinate all requests, notices and permits for network occupancy, including all internal and third party works on the network as the Works Receiver. -Managing communications regarding booking confirmation, rejections or variations. -Support the management of network occupancy related to the New Roads and Street Works Act and Traffic Management Ac
