Provide legal support for procurement, construction, and operations of renewable energy projects.

Tasks

-Collaborate with a variety of business stakeholders, including Procurement, Pre-Construction, Project Execution, Tax, Credit, Accounting, and Insurance -Maintain and update contract templates and other commonly requested legal forms -Provide project-specific legal support to Project Operations team and O&M personnnel -Negotiate terms and conditions for the purchase of other non-project based goods and services of all types -Draft and negotiate procurement and construction contracts, such as turbine supply agreements, balance of plant agreements, EPC(I) & turnkey contracts, purchase agreements for components, service agreements, logistic and transportation contracts, associated exhibits and ancillary documents -Provide legal support on HSE, R&D, IP, IT and insurance matters -Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization and develop strategies to avoid litigation and reduce potential areas of risk -Manage external legal counsel retained for specialized practices areas, i.e., litigation, tax, etc. -Provide project-speific legal support to Project Execution teams and project managers -The work will be focused on the provision of legal advice in connection with renewable energy project procurement, construction and operations across technologies (wind, solar, battery storage, hydrogen)

What You Bring

-Licensed, or the ability to become licensed, to practice law in Texas or New York -Outstanding commercial, technical and strategic understanding -Detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts -Legal knowledge and experience in construction work and renewable energy highly preferred -This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations -Ability to demonstrate practical, rather than theoretical focus to legal issues with a view to finding viable business solutions for those legal issues -Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables -Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds -Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines -Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time -Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities -Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space -Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team -J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree or equivalent from a U.S. university required -Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams -Minimum 5 years experience working on complex construction projects and/or related procurement in a law firm or a company -Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable -Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
