Tasks

-Consult customers/vendors with test-related questions and support their certification efforts. -PIC Test Lab quality control (documentation and audits). -Attract and motivate 3rd party vendors to build PROFINET devices. -Product Management and support for PROFINET ASICs, development kits, software (stack) and interface cards. -Teaching PROFINET Certified Network Engineer classes as a backup. -Provide PROFINET development and integration support for customers mainly via email, phone and Teams. -Develop new and maintain existing tools in firmware/software (embedded Linux, PC based) and hardware (embedded systems, development kits) to support and improve the PROFINET evaluation and development process for external customers. -Become a proficient PROFINET Certification Tester and achieve and maintain certification by the PI Organization. -Test Lab: Certification testing of devices and controllers for PROFINET and related communication technologies -Writing technical articles (e.g., white papers, technical articles). -Perform tests efficiently and in a timely manner. -Preparation and presentation of webinars. -Manage the PROFINET Test Lab independently. -Competence Center: Providing general PROFINET technology support and consultancy to vendors, end users and OEMs, as well as internally. -Support PROFINET marketing and promotion activities. -Establish effective work relation with the Product Management and Support Groups in Germany. -Establish effective work relation with the PI Technical Committee and other PI Test Labs (PI Community, worldwide). -Giving Development workshops (remotely, in-house or on customer site). -Primarily responsible to perform Certification Testing for PROFINET products, using the automated test system and manual test procedures, including test documentation. -Stay up to date with PROFINET and related technology developments and test procedures; maintain test system. -Training Center: Promote the technologies supported by presenting webinars, teaching workshops and training classes and writing technical articles.

What You Bring

-Being able to efficiently communicate complex technical issues to customers (written and verbally). -Excellent problem-solving skills, open to change, and motivated to constantly learn new technologies. -Familiar with current real-time embedded development platforms including Linux (ARM based) and other real-time operating systems. -Experience in writing technical documents (i.e. white papers, articles, etc.). -Experience related to Industrial Communication, preferable PROFINET, including design, implementation and testing of Industrial Automation field devices. -Bachelors of Science degree in STEM related field -Experienced in Ethernet protocol capturing and analysis with Wireshark. -1+ years of successful experience in a professional environment in the embedded systems field or related curricula (embedded systems) with no professional experience. -Highly organized and structured (lab schedule, test documentation), attention to detail, being able to prioritize and address most-important tasks first. -Being able to read and understand technical specifications (IEC etc.). -Programming skills: C, C++ -Technical support for PROFINET related questions mainly for manufacturers, OEMs, end users, etc. -Confident presenting and teaching technical content to customers (from small to very large groups). -Experience with Industrial Automation products and systems (PLC/PC based). Experience in designing and conducting technical training and other educational products. -Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship -Good understanding of Ethernet communication stacks and common implementation methods. -Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering BS degree preferred. -Advanced degree (e.g. MS EE) may be substituted for experience.
