The Role
Overview
Install, assemble, and test piping systems on construction sites

Tasks
-Assists foreman in planning the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers. -Conducts field layout of the piping system and calculates offsets, miters, and fittings as required. -Threads pipe using threading machine. -Cuts pipe using a pipe cutter, pipe saw, power tools (band saw), and pipe cutting machine. -Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, wrapped, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools. -Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures. -Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe. -Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools. -Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and valves, according to job specifications.

-Excellent physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects. -Alignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: Self-Motivated, Results Oriented, Adaptable, Team Player, Accountable, Ethical, Innovative, Resilient, Builds Relationships -Ability to read drawings including but not limited to pipe shop drawings, mechanical drawings, and P&ID’s -Ability to rig and signal loads as required. -Good communication skills -Ability to set and align process equipment like pumps and blowers. -Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers. -Has working knowledge of working around heavy machinery to include hydraulic and lattice cranes. -Knowledge in safe operation of Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove operations. -Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety. -Knowledge in safe and professional testing of piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks. -Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
