The Role

Overview

Analyze transportation GIS data, develop queries & visualizations for clients

Tasks

-Design and execute GIS processes including automated geometry creation, data conflation, and quality assurance -Collaborate with the leaders and managers across the Services teams to turn high-level specifications into implementable project tasks -Collaborate with the leaders and managers across the Services teams to turn high-level specifications into clean, accurate analytics and collaborate to convey them via mock-ups, using third party data visualization tools like Tableau / ESRI Story Maps / Power BI Etc. -Use statistical tools for analysis and validation of results. -Collaborate with Jacobs/StreetLight in preparing customer-ready materials, presentations, and findings. -Design and execute analyses to infer key transportation patterns from various data sources, both StreetLight’s own data and metrics as well as third party data.

What You Bring

-Experience in exploratory data analysis and statistics, using tools such as GIS and Python -Ability to QA and package deliverables for clients -Ability to research and evaluate data from various sources -Advanced knowledge of transportation data / industry. This includes working in a transportation-focused role within government, consulting, private-sector mobility, or a non-profit. -BE / MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Transportation, or an Engineering discipline -Good communication skills - written, visual (presentations, charts, maps), and verbal -Knowledge of geospatial data and statistics is a plus -Ability to accurately estimate how long it will take you to finish a complex task, to meet those targets, and make compromises to enable scalability.
