Lead mechanical engineer overseeing MEICA design for water, gas, and energy projects.

Tasks

-Further developing and broadening the technical capacity of the MEICA team. -Preparing technical reports and effectively communicate outputs to our clients. -Continuously developing your skills and staying up-to-dateup to date with the latest technologies, best practices, and innovations within the water and utility industry. -Providing technical input to our cross sector multidisciplinary internal project teams. -Ensuring all design activities comply with the requirements of the company's Integrated Management Systems and procedures. Identifying opportunities for improvement. -Ensuring design risk assessments and design solutions consider innovation/value engineering for best value, as well as safety, cost, and time constraints. -Participate and/or lead HAZID and HAZOP processes. -Producing design deliverables, such as specifications, drawings, data sheets, and schedules, in accordance with contract requirements. -Attending/chairing site progress, commissioning and handover meetings. -Working as part of an integrated team to deliver high quality engineering services for our clients. You will be expected to work on delivery of multiple projects concurrently. -Participate and/or lead site & factory testing and commissioning processes. -Providing guidance and advice to site, construction, and remote delivery teams at all stages. -Leading the MEICA Design team to support the delivery of projects and programmes of work. -Participating in Client project kick-off, technical and steering meetings. -Solving problems and developing design solutions, playing a central role in designing necessary mechanical equipment for power and process control. -Attending/chairing HAZID and HAZOP workshops. -Mentoring and developing staff from graduate level through to senior design engineers. -Attending or leading design review meetings taking into account client specifications, contractual obligations and any other client requirements

What You Bring

-Proficiency in relevant engineering design packages. -Diligent, professional and organised approach to work delivery.; -Have proven track record of design delivery -Competence in collaboratingon multi-disciplinary projects with engineering, planning and environmental professionals. -Be project focussed, proactive and independent, and able to provide a supporting project management role. -Competence intechnical team development and the application of best-practice principles and concepts to engineer innovative solutions for clients. -Specialist technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and ICA design. -Have a proven ability to deliver project and tasks to a high quality, on time and within budget. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, suppliers and colleagues. -Have the ability to plan, manage and prioritise own workload. -Be a Chartered Engineer with a professional body such as Engineers Ireland. -Have a minimum of 20 years relevant experience in the design/delivery of MEICA design services ideally in the water, gas and power industry. -Specialist technical knowledge of water and wastewater pipeline and pumping station design, including surge analysis. -Have a Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. A post graduate Level 9 Masters would be advantageous. -Have the ability to lead and motivate. -Aptitude to work independently to support effective and timely delivery of projects. -Specialist technical knowledge of water & wastewater treatment design. -Be able to produce high quality reports, presentations and deliverables to clearly communicate complex issues, demonstrate logically analysis and provide robust justification design decisions and statements made. -Competence in the economic appraisal of projects and plans. Experience of using CBA and MCA techniques would be beneficial. -Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications; MS Office -Have analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose problems and identify and recommend solutions.
