Operating Engineer

Overview

Maintain and monitor critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, HVAC, fire) in 24/7 data center.

Tasks

-Investigate and resolve HVAC and plumbing service requests from facility users -Perform site inspections and monitor equipment alarms across critical infrastructure systems -Execute preventative maintenance on HVAC and plumbing equipment or supervise vendor activities -Perform and monitor repairs and corrective maintenance conducted by outside vendors -Investigate, mitigate and escalate incidents promptly to minimize operational disruption -Respond to emergency situations and work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays -Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper system operation -Comply with all company policies regarding safety and ethics -Complete routine work requests and maintenance tasks as assigned

What You Bring

-Previous data center or critical environment experience -Comprehensive knowledge of critical infrastructure including UPS systems, generators, ATS units, BMS, HVAC and fire protection systems -Certificate of Qualification issued by FDNY for Refrigeration Systems Operator -Flexibility to work any assigned shift in 24/7 operations and respond to emergencies as required -Experience with building management systems and automated monitoring platforms -Additional HVAC or facilities management certifications -Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and manual dexterity for climbing, stooping, and equipment handling -Fire Systems Impairment Fire Guard (F-01) certification
